The Federation are involved in hosting several events and conferences throughout the year.
Chemeca conference
Chemeca is the annual conference for the Australian and New Zealand community of chemical and process engineers and industrial chemists. Together, participants will learn and share industry knowledge, experience, ideas and insights that help the industry continue to grow. The upcoming Chemeca conference will be held from the 28–30 September 2026 at Marvel Stadium, Melbourne, Australia.

Chemeca manual
Chemeca is the name given to the annual Australian and New Zealand conference of industrial chemists, chemical and process engineers. The Chemeca conference is run by the Australian and New Zealand Federation of Chemical Engineers (the Federation). The Federation has developed the Chemeca Manual which can be accessed below.
Asian Pacific Confederation of Chemical Engineering (APCChE)
The Asian Pacific Confederation of Chemical Engineering (APCChE) was founded in 1975 and was formed to provide a focus for various non-profit societies, associations and institutions working in the field of Chemical Engineering in the Asian Pacific region. APCChE comprises of member Societies in 13 countries and regions, People’s Republic of China, Korea, Japan, New Zealand, Thailand, India, Philippines, Indonesia, Singapore, Australia, Malaysia, Taiwan, China and Hong Kong.
The American Institute of Chemical Engineers, the Canadian Society of Chemical Engineers, the Society for Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology Germany and the Institution of Chemical Engineers (UK) are corresponding members. The establishment of APCChE was the third world chemical engineering region to be established following the Inter-American and European Confederations. The upcoming APCChE Congress will be held in 2027 in Sydney, Australia.
